Flat Stanley

Our second and third graders read Flat Stanley this year. In order to continue our lessons we were able to use this book to do a project that includes Language Arts and Social Studies as well as Reading. We colored our own Flat Stanley and wrote letters to friends and family in another state. We addressed our envelopes and mailed our Staley out. While we were waiting to hear from our Flat Stanley about his adventures we looked up information on the states he is visiting and made a pamphlet about that state. On our board just outside our classroom we have a map of the United States. Our pamphlets and any information that comes back to us from our friends about Stanley’s adventures goes on this board with a string going to the state he visited. Those in my class that have received information from Stanley have been very excited.
